i-too-have-questions

I assign my pups to GOOD homes, not necessarily RICH Homes.
I have seen rich people with a poor spirit and poor attitude and I knew the Dane won't be happy there and they were turned down. In fact, the pup is often given for less money to people with more love and spirit.

In one case an alcoholic man threw $2500 on my lap and thought I would just give him a pup. And in another case a woman tried to hand me $2000 cash after we talked and she had told how she trains her dogs. She uses a broom stick to show them who is the Alfa.  In another case a working single woman living in an appartment downtown a big city and out all day wanted a pup!!  None of such cases were given a pup and the pups went for only $1500 and in two cases for less, to senior people on pension, very nice people, with lots of time and love.

I need to know about you. The dog's life was initiated by my decision to breed the parents, and as such I have the responsibility to do what I can to ensure that he will have a happy life.

I would also need to know about your environment so I could match the right personality pup to your home. Some homes need an Alfa dog to control other pets, be a watch dog or take charge in a farm. Other homes need a passive, playful pup for a very young child.

I need to know ..

- Is he going to be just a pet, or are you going show/breed?

- Have you had a Dane before? are you familiar with the nature of a Dane? you can't have a Dane just because it looks "cool" or because it has the image of being the dog of the educated & sophisticated.

- Can you afford taking care of a large Dane? Will you be generous and kind as if he is your child?

- Do you have the space and a fenced yard?

- Is the dog going to sleeping indoor and will he have his room and bed (or a raised mattress indoors)? Danes are not
outdoors dogs to be left to the elements in a cold winter.

- Do you have children? what ages? any special needs children?

- Is someone going to be home or are both parents away at work? How long will the Dane be left alone in the house?

- I need to have a feel of your personality and nature, how kind or cruel .. responsible or alcoholic?  your attitude
towards animals. Will you spend time with the pet as a friend and a young family member, pet him and play with him
as well as accommodate him emotionally at home?
Danes live to love and to be be shown love. Even when they are hungry, they would rather be pet than fed. Thy would
leave the food and run to get your attention and affection...

- What other pets you have now?

- Does your schedule allow you to walk the dog for a considerable
distance twice a day? (will be good for you too!).

- Will you be generous with your Dane, providing quality diet and
  regular health care?

- Will you honour your word in every clause in the sales contract?

- .. and more ..

So, please, after the initial email and my reply, we would need to talk in
person. Call me at my cell at 250-619-7701 after you have read all the
material on the library page and have decided that you are ready for a
Dane.

Warm regards - and all the best to you and yours,
at home & in business.
